The SureFlap Microchip Pet Door from Sure Petcare is a pet door which is suitable for larger cat breeds and small dogs. It has a built‑in sensor that saves and reads your pet's existing microchip. Once saved, the SureFlap Pet Door will open only for your pet and prevents other animals from entering your home. Alternatively, it can be used with a SureFlap RFID collar tag, one of which is supplied with the product.

The special double lock mechanism provides increased security against other animals. It immediately locks the pet door when it recognises an intruder trying to get in, and there is also a double lock on the inside of the house which stops pets from exiting when they are not allowed to. A further highlight is the Curfew Mode Programme which allows you to specify when the flap is locked and when it is open.

Smart Microchip Reading Cat Flap

I bought this just over 2 weeks ago because local cats were visiting too often. The cat flap is very sturdy.
Our cat is frightened by noises and initially would not come in. There are some very good custom modes. I set it to inactive until she was happy using the flap. Then I set it to a 10 second delay after activation. She soon got used to that and now we are free of visiting cats. The unit remembers all custom modes so you need to clear them before setting new ones. e.g. unit inactive

Worked well, for a short while...

Really pleased to start with, cats got used to click noise quickly, and neighbour's cat couldn't get in. Batteries ran out after 4 months, but on replacing them the lock/unlock timer stopped working, so we manually set it morning and night. Batteries died VERY quickly with next two replacements, last replacement went straight to low battery, timer not working even on manual set. Only thing that still works is the microchip recognition. Had this 15 months and need to replace!

Worth every penny

We bought one a year ago, and have only had to change the battery recently. It works perfectly, is easy to use and has managed to keep the local bully cat out of our house. The curfew is great peace of mind as we keep our cats inside when it's dark. We trained our kittens how to use it in about a week after neither of them having been outside before, and both being quite shy. I was originally worried that the smaller one wouldnt be able to manage the door, but she copes fine.

We had awful issues with other cats coming in and terrorising our boy, but this has changed everything. He took to it really easily (he’s pretty laid back), and within an hour was using it like his old one. He’s far more confident and knows that he’s safe now and we finally have peace of mind that we won’t come home from work to find him cowering in the corner. I highly highly recommend.

Pure heaven

Hip hip Freedom for me and Porsha. I thought there was going to be a problem with the clicking sound as she's a bit nerve, but no she took to it. It's nice and roomy. She is a bit of a plum as she scratches the window instead of using her nose, as if it's the front door. But she gets in in the end. For freedom it's worth it's weight in gold
