Glycobalance is a complete dietetic dry food for adult dogs, in the Royal Canin Veterinary Diet range. It is intended for dogs with diabetes, as part of diabetes management directed by a vet.
The recipe contains reduced levels of mono- and disaccharides and a reduced starch content with lower levels of easily digestible carbohydrates. The manufacturer says it can support blood sugar levels after meals and muscle maintenance.
Protein 37%, fat 12%, fibre 7.2%, ash 5.4%, starch 20.2%, total sugar 1%, omega-3 0.58%, omega-6 2.48%. Additives per kg include vitamin A 15,600 IU, vitamin D3 1000 IU, iron 26mg, iodine 2.6mg, copper 8mg, manganese 34mg, zinc 123mg and selenium 0.03mg.
Dry food only, for an average 10kg dog: 183g per day (208g underweight, 158g overweight); 20kg: 308g; 30kg: 417g. Mixed feeding with wet food is also possible. Feed initially for up to 6 months and seek veterinary advice before feeding or extending the feeding duration.
