Hill's Prescription Diet Feline y/d Thyroid Care is a dietetic dry food with reduced iodine levels, specifically developed for adult cats with hyperthyroidism.

Recipe notes

Iodine is tailored to limit uptake from meals. According to the manufacturer the recipe also supports kidney health, with controlled phosphorus and limited sodium. Feeding it exclusively is advised, so extra snacks between meals should be avoided. Always seek your vet's advice.

Ingredient list

Maize gluten meal, maize, animal fats, pea protein, brewer's rice, wheat, dried whole egg, minerals, protein hydrolysate, linseeds, fish oil, L-carnitine, vitamins, taurine, trace elements, beta-carotene, with mixed tocopherols. Per kg: vitamin A 9014 IU, vitamin D3 783 IU, vitamin E 600mg, vitamin C 100mg, iodine 0.18mg, zinc 167mg.

Switching over and daily amounts

For adult cats: These are recommendations only. Your pet may need less or more food to maintain proper weight. Adjust as needed. If you are feeding this food to your cat for the first time, mix a little y/d in with your cat’s normal food at first and then gradually increase the proportions over the course of 7 days until the cat is wholly fed with y/d.
