Concept for Life Veterinary Diet Hypoallergenic - Kangaroo is a premium complete wet food for adult dogs that suffer from nutritional sensitivities. Food intolerances refer to all abnormal physiological reactions after consumption of a food or additive. There is a clear distinction between food allergies and food intolerances. Food allergies are an overreaction of the immune system to certain proteins, while food intolerances are not caused by the immune system. Both can lead to skin and digestive problems such as itching and diarrhoea. An elimination diet helps determine any intolerance; the prerequisite is that the food only contains a selected protein and carbohydrate source. Skin issues may also result from flea saliva or environmental factors. A diet rich in high-quality fatty acids supports healthy skin. To reduce the possibility of raw ingredient and nutrient intolerance, the only source of protein in this food is kangaroo, and parsnips are the sole carbohydrate source. Excluding commonly used animal proteins and carbohydrates helps lessen the risk of an adverse reaction. This food is enriched with thistle oil and linseed oil, both high in omega‑3 fatty acids. Recommended feeding period:
- Feed for 3-8 weeks to reduce intolerance to raw ingredients and nutrients
- Continue to feed if intolerance diminishes
- Feed up to 2 months to support skin function in dermatosis and excess hair loss
