  • Odour control: active wood fibres bind odours and moisture

  • Economical: basic fill lasts up to 3 weeks
  • Lightweight and low dust: up to 40% lighter than mineral litter, gentle on paws

Specifications

Product type Clumping cat litter
Material 100% natural active wood fibres from secondary raw materials
Format 20 litre bag (approx. 10kg) or 2 x 20 litre economy pack
Clumping Soft clumps, easy to remove
Disposal Biodegradable and compostable

Composition

100% natural active wood fibres made from secondary raw materials, so no trees are felled for production. No artificial additives. 100% biodegradable and compostable.

How to use

Fill the litter tray with a basic layer of pellets. Remove solid waste and clumps regularly; the remaining litter can stay in the tray for longer, so a basic fill lasts up to 3 weeks. Soft clumps suit cats that avoid trays with hard clumps.

Disposal: dispose of clumps with residual waste, organic waste or compost, following local regulations. Where local rules allow, individual clumps can be flushed down the toilet one at a time: crush the clump slightly, let it dissolve, then flush thoroughly before adding the next. Never flush a full tray of used litter.

FAQ

Is Smart Pellets good for long-haired cats?
Yes. The smooth pellets are non-sticky, so they do not cling to fur or paws and less litter is tracked around the home.

How long does a fill last?
A basic fill lasts up to 3 weeks if you remove clumps and solid waste regularly.

Declining Quality

I had been using this product for few year and was initially very satisfied with its clumping ability and the fact that it is environmentally friendly and flushable. However, now its clumping ability is next to nil. At best you are left with a mound of soggy saw dust which has become very difficult to scoop out without wasting a lot of the product.

I used to recommend this product to friends but sadly I have now had to switch to a litter which contains clay but has excellent clumping ability.

Pellets are way too big

The pellets are way to big, become hard to clean without wasting a lot of litter and trail when the cat get out.
It also doesn't really cluster on poo.
I used to love this brand, but it's really not up to par anymore.

Clumps Well But Too Much Dust

This cat litter clumps well but there is alot of dust that collects under the pellets. This can cause irritation to a cats respiratory tract & possibly trigger asthma attacks, as my cat on occasions does have a coughing fit. To prevent this the larger pellets need to be sieved before being placed it into the cat tray. This should have been done during the manufacturing process before its packed.

The product seems good but my cats hate it

A friend recommended this cat litter and I saw a lot of good reviews, but unfortunately my two cats refuse to use it, so it's been wasted money!
Great packaging from zooplus though, hence the 4 stars

Stops dust tracking and more hygienic as can scoop pee out in clumps. Pee doesn't just sit there ...

Absolutely brilliant! Stops dust tracking/little bits as its pellets so if any come out they are only around the tray not the whole house, and more hygienic as can scoop pee out in clumps so it lasts ages as no litter soaked in pee sitting at the bottom of the tray smelling like what happens with none clumping.
