All Catit filters should be replaced every three weeks or as soon as there are signs of other foreign substances on it (dirt, bits of old food, hairs, etc); Filters may need to be changed on a more regular basis depending on the environment, water quality or if it is serving several animals. Replacement Filter A: Intended for use with the Catit Design Large Dog Drinking Fountain 10.5l and the Catit Design Drinking Fountain with Food Bowl 3l.

I cant tell if this is making my cat drink more, but since installing it she has preferred drinking from here rather than her water bowl.
It does make a little humming noise that can be annoying if you are sitting very close to it and get annoyed easily, but its not really noisy

Best fountain I've used yet

I've had 4 different drinking fountains over the last 4 years (tried new ones regular due to not liking the 'fussyness' of taking apart, washing & resembling) the catit fountain is so easy to maintain compared to the other more expensive fountains I've tried so very pleased I gave this one a go (more importantly, I think it is my fur babies favourite fountain too) & of course the filters are an important part of the fountain so I highly recommend these too :)
